About ngiSEd

+ Sandra Elizondo
+ Freelance Graphic Designer

I am always thinking about how a design should or could interact with its audience whether evoking an emotional response or prolonging the life of a design through sustainability. The process behind this thinking is the ability to look ahead and design backwards – hence ngiSEd – this helps me evaluate the project from conception to deterioration when developing an idea.

Here you will find my body of work. Enjoy!

Thank You Packages

This is a set of packages created to thank the individuals and corporations who made the 2011 York/sheridan graduation show a success. We created three levels of packages – high, medium and low – respectfully corresponding to the levels of sponsorship. As part of our sustainability initiative in the program, we dedicated our time and research into developing an inexpensive and reusable solution where the package and its contents could have multiple lives after reaching its recipient.

Lumber

Inspired by the Lumberjack, this package design creates an awareness for paper consumption as well as production to promote the plaid shirts–a symbol of the lumberjack and its relationship with Canadian heritage. Each package displays a different tree bark pattern either pine, birch or maple. The most unique trait of these packages is their transformations into a hanger, coaster, piggy bank, or storage containers.

Risus

This book is based on laughter and the origin of laughter in the brain. The design of the book reflects its light and playful nature and showcases personal stories donated by classmates and friends.

National Federation of the Blind

This organization was a challenge for obvious reasons and allowed me to play around more with texture and physical qualities in the stationery. Having two very different audiences–blind and sighted–posed the challenge of not neglecting either group. The logo came from the concept of forcing sighted individuals to use the same reading mechanism as the blind, essentially connecting the dots.

San Fermin Festival

This is an identity system for the Festival of Saint Fermin in Pamplona, Spain. This festival is an annual event that attracts people from all over the world to the most famous running of the bulls. The design reflects the rough (not for the weak of heart) exterior of the festival, however the stillness and scale of the bull builds intrigue, inviting the viewer to explore further revealing its softer core.
